When paper sheets are set on a bottom plate (6b), where one of the sheets stacked on a bottom plate (6b) elevationally rockably mounted on a tray (6a) is fed via a feed roller (3) mounted by a leaf spring (17) on a drive shaft (12), a detection switch (45) is turned ON. Thus, the pressing force detected by a load cell (25) is fed back to a servo motor (9) to vary the tension of a spring (8) via the revolution of the motor. The variation in the tension of the spring (8) in turn adjusts the lifting force of a bent part (7a) making contact with the bottom plate (6b) to set the pressing pressure at the set value. When the sheet is fed in this state, the drive torque of the feed roller (3) is detected by the difference in the rotating angles between the disc (21) at the feed roller side and the disc (22) at the drive shaft side. The detected drive torque is fed back to the servo motor (9) to control the pressing pressure every time the drive torque of the roller (3) is varied. Consequently, it can prevent the feeding of double sheets and the erroneous feeding of a sheet by keeping the sheet feeding force constant. |
