PURPOSE:To obtain a serial type printer capable of printing selectively two kinds of type groups by a single mechanism by a method in which only a supporter is always faced a hammer and the facing and isolation between the supporter and the hammer are made by moving by means of a carriage. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 42 is energized, a hammer 40 is attracted against a spring 44, the leg 4a of a supporter 4 is pushed up by the hammer 40, and printing is made by a type wheel 1. When a necessary printing by the type wheel 1 is ended, the downwardly projected pin 32 of a carriage 13 collides on the left end of a long hole 34, a connecting plate 33 is slided to the left, and the leg 4a is removed from the left end of the hammer 40. At this time, the right end of the long hole 36 on the right side collides on the pin 35, the carriage 14 is pushed to the left, the supporter leg 5a of the type wheel 2 reaches a position facing the hammer 40, and printing is made by the type wheel 2. |
