<p>The pump comprises twin, parallel, meshing screw rotors (11,12) cantilevered from suction-end bearings and driven through a motor (16) and gearbox (15). The pump casing (10) is manufactured from light alloy and has a hopper feed (13) and an axial discharge diffuser (14). The rotors and the casings are manufactured and assembled with clearance between them and the casings. The casings and at least the threaded portion of the rotors have a low coefficient of friction which together with the clearances enable the pump to handle slurries and solids.</p> |
