PURPOSE:To provide a copying machine by which a uniform copied image is obtained by uniformly and automatically adjusting the toner density of a toner image formed on a photosensitive belt and a transfer belt. CONSTITUTION:A reference original is exposed by a copying lamp 32. Reflected light goes through a lens 32 and a mirror and is transmitted through a liquid crystal panel 39 so as to form an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive belt 40. The latent image is developed by a developing device and a toner image is formed on the photosensitive belt 40. The toner image is transferred on the transfer belt 43 by a primary transfer roller 42, and the toner density is detected by a toner density sensor 46. Based on the toner density, a voltage value impressed on the liquid crystal panel 39 is obtained so that the toner density of the formed toner image may be uniform, then it is fed back to the liquid crystal panel 39. The light transmissivity of the liquid crystal panel is changed to adjust the intensity of the reflected light, and then the toner density of the toner image is adjusted to be uniform. After adjusting the toner density, the ordinary copying of the original is executed. |
