PURPOSE:To provide the titled color develper consisting of a specified benzoquinone derivative and capable of rapidly developing the color of a methine base coloring matter by making contact with the coloring matter to produce a stable developed color image in a deep color. CONSTITUTION:A benzoquinone derivative of formula I [wherein X is -SO2-, >C=O; R is (cyclo)alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, a terpene group, aryl(aralkyl, cycloalkyl) oxy, a substituted amino group] (for example, 2-phenylsulfonyl-1,4-benzoquinone) is used as a color developer for a methine base coloring matter of formula II[wherein each of X, Y is (substituted) phenyl, naphthyl, beta-styryl, an aromatic heterocyclic ring]. |
