A picture processing apparatus for recognizing an ambient environment as a picture, comprising view-field picture input means (5) for receiving a distorted picture of wide angle of view, an arithmetic unit (6) which corrects the distorted picture of wide angle of view from the view-field picture input means, into a proper picture of wide angle of view, and means (4) for displaying the proper picture of wide angle of view from the arithmetic unit (6).
