PURPOSE:To form a light pervious recording material for ink jet recording excellent in ink receptivity and imparting excellent sharpness to a recorded image, by making the ink penetration speed of an ink holding layer forming material larger than that of an ink pervious layer forming material. CONSTITUTION:The ink holding layer provided to a substrate is mainly formed of a hydrophilic material capable of receiving aqueous ink and having an ink penetration speed larger than that of the material of an ink pervious layer. The ink pervious layer made of a natural or synthetic resin provided on the ink holding layer and promotes the reception of ink by such a mechanism that the ink small dropet adhered to the surface thereof is rapidly enlarged in its contact surface to a degree generating no excessive overlapping with the other mutually adjacent small ink droplet to be penetrated into the ink holding layer. By this method, the reception and fixation of ink are markedly improved and, for example, not only in monocolor recording but also in full-color recording, the flow- out or exudation of recording solution is prevented even when different color recording solution are adhered to the same in an overlapped state within a short time and a sharp image having high resolving power and an excellent color forming property is obtained. |
