PURPOSE:To improve safety without overheating and make defrosting operation immediately when an auxiliary heater for space heating is not used by making defrosting operation after the surroundings of the heater is cooled by the operation of an indoor delivery fan for a given time after the stop operation of the heater. CONSTITUTION:At the time of reduced space heating capacity when an indoor heat exchanger 10 is low in temp., an auxiliary heater 34 for space heating is operated by a heater control means 41. Thereafter, when an increase in heating capacity stops the operation of the heater 34, the operation of an air delivery fan 10c is continued to operate by an operation continuing means 44 for the fan to prevent the surroundings of the heater 34 from overheating. When the fan is stopped, defrosting operation is carried out by a command for defrosting operation. When a command for defrosting operation is issued in such a condition as the fan is not stopped, the heater is stopped, the fan is operated for a given time, and the surroundings of the heater is cooled before defrosting operation is carried out.
