PURPOSE:To avoid such a case where a calling subscriber rings off hastily after deciding arbitarily the absence of the called subscriber to cause an uncommunicable state, by securing such constitution where the called subscriber can give an answer at a remote place from a telephone with operation of a remote control signal transmitter. CONSTITUTION:A telephone 101 detects an incoming signal by an incoming signal detecting circuit 102 via a circuit (a) and starts a speaker 104 by a tone ringer control circuit 103 via a processor 110 and a control circuit 111 to deliver ringing tones. If the called subscriber is unable to answer quickly, he/she operates a remote control signal transmitter 201 to transmit the remote control signal (b). When the signal (b) is received by a remote control signal detecting circuit 202, a processor 110 transmits an answer signal through an answer/restoration signal transmitting signal 105 via the circuit (a) and according to the received remote control signal. Then the messages of message store circuits 107 and 108 are sent to a message transmitting circuit 106 through the circuit (a). Thus the messages of the 1st and 2nd functions are stored in both circuits 107 and 108 respectively. The 2nd function, for example, starts a sound recorder 109 to record the message of the calling subscriber and transmits the restoring signal through the circuit 105 for restoration.
