PURPOSE:To positively take out an uppermost veneer by attaching an adhesive member to the uppermost veneer by moving means and upper and lower drive means, taking out the single veneer from a stack position, and then releasing adhesively held condition. CONSTITUTION:Holding means 29 horizontally moved by actuation of a cylinder 27 is lowered by actuation of a cylinder 21 to attach an adhesive tape 27 to a veneer 7. After downward movement of a support plate 49 of the holding means 29 is stopped, the cylinder 21 is reversely actuated to separately hold up the veneer 7 in a cantilevered manner. Then, the cylinder 27 is reversely actuated to move the veneer 7 between a drive roller 31 and a press roller 41. When the leading end of the veneer 7 is detected, the cylinder 27 is stopped, and a release bar 43 is rotated counterclockwise so as to cause the a press arm 43a to release held condition of the veneer 7 by the adhesive tape 95. Then, the veneer 7 is sent to a following process by the drive roller 31.
