PURPOSE:To obtain an air conditioner of separate type of which process of manufacturing is saved, as well as to prevent a reactor from contacting rain water, by providing a bulkhead to partition off part of a housing space, by providing a box of electric equipment on the top of a bulkhead, and by communicating the housing space with a fan space by the intermediary of an air flow path. CONSTITUTION:A box of electric equipment 27 is provided on the top of a bulkhead 26, striding over a fan space 23 and a housing space 25. A fresh air intake port 28 is provided on the bottom of a housing space 25. When an outdoor unit is operated, a heat exchanger 21 is cooled by the air flow from a fan 22. Fresh air is sucked from the fresh air intake port 28 by the suction effect of a fan 22. It forms an air flow flowing from a communicating port 28 via a through-hole 34, cooling a transistor module 32 and a reactor 35, flowing in a fan space 23 from a communicating port 30. The box of electric equipment 27 is provided in the upper part in the outdoor unit body 20, and the reactor 35 is housed in the box of electric equipment 27. Because controlling parts are cooled by forming an air flow passage through the box of electric equipment 27, a wiring for the controlling parts can be made in the same box 27, and the reactor 35 can be prevented from contacting rain water.
