The apparatus converts normal video to negative image of inverted luminance by using a simple circuit to perform the converting process in real time. It includes a control section (1) for generating switching control signal and reference signal, an A/ D converter (2) for A/D converting the luminance, 1st switching section (3) for switching the output of the converter (2), 2nd comparator (5) for generating switching control signal, a coring circuit (7) for non-linear processing, and a substractor (9) and an adder (10) for substracting and adding the outputs of the coring circuit (7) and a 2nd switching section (8). |
