The hairbrush has a space 13 which is provided in the brush body and can be closed from the outside for receiving a hair-care liquid which is applied to the hair and to the scalp during brushing. For this purpose, some of the bristles are designed as cannulas 22A, at whose free ends a valve housing 10 is attached in each case. The valve housing 10 contains a valve body 15 and a prestressed spring 16 which normally holds the valve body 15 in the sealing position, such that the through-flow of the liquid through the cannulas 22A is blocked. However, when the hairbrush is being used, the valve body 15 is pushed slightly into the valve housing 10, as a result of which its sealing function is eliminated and liquid can flow through the cannulas 22A, the hollow space 11 and bores 19 out onto the scalp. <IMAGE>
