Method for decreasing the deactivation of Denox catalysts

In the case of Denox catalysts which are used in slag-tap-fired furnaces with dust return in the flue gas stream, rapid deactivation occurs as a result of arsenic and other catalyst poisons. The object underlying the invention is to reduce this deactivation as far as possible. For this purpose, arsenic and other catalyst poisons are removed from the flydust separated off before return into the fusion chamber. This can be performed by heat treatment, but also by leaching. The invention can be used in slag-tap-fired furnaces having dust return. <IMAGE>
