An arrangement for the registration of a liquid level is proposed, having a light-conducting sensor body (11), wettable by a filling medium, into which sensor light from a light source (14) can be introduced in such a way that, in the unwetted state, it is totally reflected by the filling medium at least once at the interface (15) between the sensor body (11) and the surrounding medium (13) and, after the reflection, is received by a light receiver (16). In the wetted state, the light penetrates through the filling medium at the interface (15) between the sensor body (11) and the filling medium mainly into the said filling medium. In the sensor body (11), the optical path (17) of the light between the light source (14) and the light receiver (16) leads, after the total reflection, via at least one opening (18) open to the filling medium. <IMAGE>
