A machine for shaping, profiling and bevelling lenses made from organic material has a hollow vertical spindle (3) which can be rotated about its vertical axis. The lower end of this spindle has a shaft (1b) to which a pattern of the required lens is attached. This shaft is driven by a motor (2) so that the pattern (1) is moved over the tip of a fixed stylus (5). The shaft passes through the hollow spindle and carries a pulley which drives a belt which drives the upper shafts (6a,6b). The lenses are attached to these shafts and are rotated as the pass over fixed position rotating tools (9a,9b) which shape the lenses to the pattern (1).
