<p>PURPOSE:To correctly estimate the state of a road surface by carrying out fuzzy estimation on the basis of the input supplied from a plurality of road surface characteristic value sensors which detect different characteristic value of each road surface, in noncontact form, and by estimating the state of the road surface. CONSTITUTION:A road surface characteristic sensor is constituted of sensors 12-20, and a computer 22 equipped with an input membership function memory means 32, output membership function memory means 34, fuzzy estimation means 36, etc., constitutes a road surface state estimation means, and since the frictional coefficient mu of a road surface is estimated through the fuzzy estimation on the basis of six kinds of physical quantities which represent the road surface characteristic, the reliability of the result of the estimation is high, and the correctness of the antiskid control which is carried out on the basis of the result of the estimation is increased, and the software for the antiskid control, can be made simple.</p> |
