PURPOSE:To simply manufacture an Fe-Ni alloy thin sheet having extremely high permeability by subjecting a steel having a specified compsn. constituted of Ni, other alloy elements and Fe to continuous casting into a thin sheet, executing controlled cooling and thereafter subjecting it to specified cold rolling and annealing. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-Ni steel contg., by weight, 35 to 85% Ni, contg. alloy elements well-known as an Fe-Ni magnetic material and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is subjected to continuous casting by a twin roll continuous casting machine or the like into a slab having 1 to 7mm thickness. This slab is cooled to 1200 deg.C from the solidified temp. at cooling velocity more than that of air cooling. This slab is subjected to cold rolling at 50 to 95% draft. Next, in the process of annealing this cold rolled sheet, the temp. of the material is risen to 1100 deg.C under the condition where its average temp. rising rate in the temp. range of 900 to 1100 deg.C is regulated to 5 to 20 deg.C/hr while a temp. gradient 1 to 10 deg.C/cm is given thereto. In this way, the Fe-Ni high permeability magnetic alloy having extremely high permeability in a concise process in which hot rolling is obviated can be obtd. |
