Microprocessor circuit arrangement for identifying and charging a battery pack - detects and displays electrical code, and processes signal from temp. sensor in battery pack

The battery pack (1) has housing contg. a number of batteries (2) and an element which detects the temp. of the pack and whose signal is processed by the circuit. An electrical code associated with the pack is detected by the circuit which compares it with codes stored in a microprocessor (18) and then displays it. The temp. dependent element in the pack is connected to a capacitance and/or inductance. It can be a measurement resistance (3) connected in parallel with a measurement capacitance (21), or connected in series with an inductance. USE/ADVANTAGE - For identifying and charging a battery pack. The circuit is improved to detect defective cells and aging effects which prevent optimal charging.
