Interior equipment parts for motor vehicles, pref. sun roofs with a thickness of 1-6 mm, consist of 1 or 3 layers of polyester fibres (I) whereby the layers are formed by heat and pressure into the required form and are strengthened and are opt. bonded to each other. All the layers are exclusively formed of polyester, that have a titre of 1.5-3.0 dtex and contain 80-100 wt.% PBT fibres and upto 20 wt.% of a polyester fibre with a m.pt. greater than 228 deg.C that is uniformly distributed for a single layer version. In the 3 layer version both heat treated outer layers comprise 25-100 wt.% polybutyleneterephthalate fibres and upto 75 wt.% polyester fibres with a m.pt. greater than 228 deg.C, uniformly distributed.Pref. the inner layer has a density of 8-40% of the outer layers. The polybutyleneterephthalate fibres have a core comprising a higher m.pt. polyester.
