Secondary -air flow control arrangement for use in conjunction with an exhaust emission reduction device for catalytic purification of i.c. engine exhaust gases, to which secondary air is supplied under the control of the arrangement, being novel by virtue of a control signal actuated valve for regulating the secondary air flow, a management control unit for computing the amplitude and frequency of the control signals on the basis of the magnitude of the induced air flow to the engine and the temperature of the cooling water. USE/ADVANTAGE - Maintenance of optimum temperature for catalytic reduction of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and NOx in i.e. engine exhaust gases. Controlled supply of preheated secondary air to a catalytic converter unit.
