The control circuit (10) converts the signal from a CCD image sensor (7) into a TV picture signal for display on a monitor screen (12). When the freeze command switch contact (8b) is closed by pressure on a push-button (8a) on the TV camera (8) coupled (6) to the endoscope (A), the current video frame is stored in a memory (11) after a delay (9) sufficient to ensure that any vibration imparted to the flexible portion (3) of the endoscope has been damped out. The storage is commanded by the trailing edge of the pulse from the switch contact. USE/ADVANTAGE - For optical examination of body cavities. Clear still image is obtd. free from quiver due to operation of push-button.
