Motor vehicle location in GPS system - displaying satellite position data and map data on common display, with map data in analog image data form

The moving object receives satellite position data from a navigational satellite via a receiver system. The data is processed by computer and displayed, pref. as a flat image. The image data is fed from a map source, via an interface if required, to an evaluation and combination stage. The data from the map source is processed as analog map or image data. The data is set in relation to a coordinate system supported by the satellite data to enable visual observation of the position with the origins, orientations and scales of the analog data and satellite data coinciding. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for use with motor vehicles, in partic. lorries. Flexible and is easily adaptable to specific applications.
