This method comprises contacting said sample with an autoimmune antigen reactive with said autoantibody, to form an antigen/antibody complex, and detecting the presence of said complex, wherein said autoimmune antigen is produced by a method comprising : introducing genetic information from a gene library into plural recipient cell, wherein said gene library is obtained from a donor that expresses a protein antigen reactive with said autoantibody, thereby producing transformed cells ; selecting a transformed producer cell which contains a gene coding for said autoimmune antigen by detecting a binding reaction between said autoantibody and said autoantigen expressed by said producer cell, thereby identifying a cloned DNA segment from said donor, producing said autoantigen from said cloned DNA segment. |
