PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a density conversion range in consideration of the characteristic of the reading part of each machine by detecting the density distribution of read data before processing. SOLUTION: An image inputting part 1 optically reads an original and coverts image information to a digital signal. A density conversion part 2 detects the density distribution of inputted image data to convert density corresponding to the density range of the image. A density distribution measuring part 3 executes the density analysis of an evaluation chart for adjustment, the peak value erection, etc., of the white level/black level of input data with respect to image data from the image input part 1. A range setting part 4 changes the range setting of the density conversion range based on distribution analysis at the density distribution measuring part 3 according to read data. An image processing part 5 executes each image processing such as filter processing, variable magnification processing and gradation processing, concerning image data after density conversion. An image output part 6 print-outputs a bit map image after processing to a paper. |
