<p>A high voltage stationary electromagnetic device comprising a core (7-9) of magnetic material having a relative permeability greater than 1 and current-carrying winding means (1-3) for generating an H-field. The core (1-3) is constructed and arranged so that, in use of the core assembly, current carried by the winding means gives rise to a B-field in the core which substantially follows the H-field.</p> |
