<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a fixing process at low fixing temperature and to obtain an excellent fixed image by providing a means for changing the material of a binding resin of toner between a transfer means and a fixing means. SOLUTION: A toner image on transfer paper 10 obtained through image forming, developing and transferring processes is irradiated with light before fixing. A low pressure mercury lamp, a high pressure mercury lamp, a fluorescent lamp, a halogen lamp, an organic EL element or a laser system such as various semiconductor lasers or various gas lasers are used as a light source used at such a time. The toner image on the paper 10 is irradiated with the light after transferring the toner and before fixing the toner. A light shielding plate 11 is installed on the upstream side of a flash lamp 8 in a paper feeding direction so that a photoreceptor being an image carrier 1 may be not exposed in the case of the irradiation of the light. Thus, the molecular chain of the binding resin constituting a toner particle is optically cut to make the resin low in molecular weight, thereby lowering the glass transition temperature.</p> |
