<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polymerized toner having a low fixing temp. and uniform meltability, excellent in preservability (blocking resistance) and fluidity, hardly causing fog and hardly lowering printing density. SOLUTION: A polymerizable monomer compsn. contg. at least a colorant, a polymerizable monomer and a releasing agent is suspended in an aq. dispersive medium contg. a dispersion stabilizer to form droplets. The compsn. is suspension-polymerized in the presence of an oil-soluble polymn. initiator until the rate of polymn. conversion attains to the range of 30-95%. While the rate of polymn. conversion is within the range, a reducer for the redox initiator is added to the dispersive medium, the suspension polymn. is further succeeded to form colored polymer particles and the objective polymerized toner is produced. When a polymerizable monomer for shells is suspension-polymerized in the presence of the colored polymer particles to form polymer layers as shells on the surfaces of the particles, the objective toner having a core/shell structure is produced.</p> |
