An insecticide comprising a component derived from a plant, plant extract and/or plant exudate from the genus Geranium, Morus, Crataegus, Rubia, Artemisia, Curcuma, Gardenia, Cornus, Terminalia, Saussurea, Uncaria, Rheum, Diospyros and/or Polygonum is new. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of the insecticide.
