PURPOSE: A sync detecting device and an optical disk player thereof are provided to constantly perform an interpolation of an interpolation sync until a normal detection sync is generated. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a data crash caused by a sync noise, and to prevent a clock distortion. CONSTITUTION: A sync detector(224) detects a sync from a played signal. A sync interpolator/protector(232) sets up a protection window according to the detected sync, and counts a clock generated from a VOC(Voltage Controlled Oscillator). Then, the sync interpolator/protector(232) generates the protection window when a counted value corresponds to a sync generation location, and interpolates the sync according to a sync interpolation request. A sync outputting unit(230) outputs the sync outputted from the sync detector(224) if the sync is not deviated from the protection window. If the sync is deviated from the protection window, the sync outputting unit(230) requests a sync interpolation to the sync interpolator/protector(232), and outputs the sync outputted from the sync interpolator/protector(232). A noise remover(234) counts a clock of a sync detection section while outputting the sync. If a counted value corresponds to a normal sync, the noise remover(234) counts the clock as a normal sync frequency. If the counted value is in accord with a determined value, the noise remover(234) supplies a reset signal to the sync interpolator/protector(232).
