PURPOSE: A system for starting engine in which re-starting of an engine is convenient is provided to re-start an engine immediately by a simple key switch manipulation if the engine becomes de-energized while driving. CONSTITUTION: An engine starting system convenient to restart an engine includes an operation switch(16) connected to a clutch switch(4) in parallel for applying power to an engine starting motor(6), an electronic control unit(ECU;18) for controlling on/off state of the operation switch, and an engine temperature sensor(20) connected to the ECU and measuring a temperature of cooling water of an engine, wherein the operation switch is maintained being turned on if the temperature of the cooling water is higher than a predetermined temperature(40°C), and the operation switch is to be a relay.
