Electrical outlet safety cover and cord connector

An apparatus for covering an electrical wall outlet and for maintaining the connection of an electrical plug to the outlet includes a cover plate presenting a socket openings and at least one cap for housing a cord/plug assembly. Two legs of the cap have free ends with flanges. The cover plate includes a pair of opposed slots about each socket opening, each slot having a first channel for receiving the appropriately aligned legs and the flanges therein. The cap is secured to cover by rotating the cap until the legs reach a terminal channel at which a portion of the plate overlies the flanges to preclude removal of the flanges from the channel. The cap is removable from the cover plate by only placing inward pressure on both legs while simultaneously rotating the cap for movement of the legs back to the first channel. The apparatus further includes a second cap. The caps can be locked together by inserting the legs of the first cap into slots of the second one.
