PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for a printer having good handleability even out of the printer. SOLUTION: The cleaning device for the printer comprises a cleaning tool 9, and an oscillatorily clamping mechanism 10 for holding the tool 9 at various positions. In this device, the tool 9 is connected to the mechanism 10 to each other via a connecting unit 26 and is enabled to be disconnected from the mechanism 10 from each other.
