PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio) over a wide band though a converter is small. SOLUTION: One end of a rectangular waveguide 6 is coupled with the short circuit end 2a of a circular waveguide 2 so that the rectangular waveguide 6 crosses a tube axis 2c of the circular waveguide 2 at right angles. The short side 6b of the rectangular waveguid 6 is positioned in parallel with the tube axis 2c, and the long side 6c is positioned perpendicularly to the tube axis 2c. The first contact side 10a of a bulkhead 10 contacts the end 2a in the circular waveguide 2, and a second contact side 2b extends linearly in the inside surface of the circular waveguide 2 from one end of the first contact side 10a toward the opening end 2b of the circuilar waveguide 2. A first opening straight line side 2c extends linearly in parallel to the first contact side from the tip of the second contact side 2b toward the rectangular waveguide 6 side. An opening slope side 2d extends like a slope from the tip of the side 2c toward the rectangular waveguide 6, a second opening straight line side 2e extends from the tip of the slope side 2d, and a third opening straight line side 2f extends from the tip of the side 2e toward the other end of the contact side 2a.
