<p>A method for the life prediction of a plurality of vehicle components comprising the following method steps; estimation of the surface roughness of the road upon which the vehicle is travelling, measurement of the speed of the vehicle and estimation of an individual wear index for each component from the parameters surface roughness and speed of the vehicle. The object of the invention is to be able to judge when a component on a vehicle is in need of service.</p>
