<p>A method for recovering a fluorinated alcohol comprising the step of adding an inorganic salt to a mixed solution comprising the fluorinated alcohol and water to cause two-phase separation. This method can recover a fluorinated alcohol by separating water from a mixed solution of the fluorinated alcohol and water which is produced during a CD-R or DVD-R production process.</p>
