A system and a method for examining and repairing an airplane engine are provided to perform maintenance on a part of an engine expected to have problems by collecting engine operation variable data and tracking change pattern for each variable. A method for examining and repairing an airplane engine includes the steps of: analyzing flight operation data on air planes and sorting data necessary to examine an engine; reading operation variable input data file related to the engine; analyzing the time-based variable profile of main engine operation variable; analyzing engine operation variable patterns under specific operation conditions; tracking change of main engine variable for a predetermined time, combining changes of variables deeply related to each other and patterning them; building database about problems and repair of the engine for variable combination pattern; comparing actual operation variable with the database; and performing examination and maintenance.
