<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting apparatus having the excellent emission efficiency of light emitted from a light-emitting device and uniform brightness, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: This light-emitting apparatus 10 is provided with a silicon substrate 11 having metal wiring 15 formed thereon, a light-emitting device 12 mounted to the substrate, a metal plate 13 joined to the silicon substrate 11 and having a reflection surface 25 formed so as to be slanted outward to be gradually increased in width from a mounting surface 26, and a sealing resin 14 for sealing the light-emitting device 12. The apparatus is formed so that θ satisfies a relation θ<(90°+arcsin(n<SB>a</SB>/n<SB>c</SB>))/2, where θ is an angle formed of the mounting surface 26 of the silicon substrate 11 and the reflection surface 25, n<SB>c</SB>is the refractive index of the sealing resin 14 and n<SB>a</SB>is the refractive index of air. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
