PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device with which a stable synchronous motor can be operated with simple control.

SOLUTION: A microcomputer B controlling an inverter circuit 2 outputting variable voltage and a variable frequency and controlling variable speed of the synchronous motor detects a phase difference between motor voltage and motor current. A duty reference value corresponding to an error between phase difference information on the detected phase difference and target phase difference information is calculated. An acceleration judging part 16 inhibits acceleration when the phase difference increases and permits acceleration when the phase difference is reduced.
