<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreating agent for inkjet printing and a method for inkjet printing that enables the continuous pretreatment, as the ink retains high print concentration and simultaneously has lowered spinnability. <P>SOLUTION: The pretreating agent is an aqueous pretreating agent that is used in combination with an inkjet printing ink including reactive dyes and at least includes a polyoxyethylene/polyoxypropylene copolymer, a hydrotropy agent, and an alkaline agent.
