Disclosed is an eyeglass lens which is molded with an infrared ray-absorbing agent added thereto, and which has an excellent infrared ray-absorbing property while preventing the deterioration or decomposition of the infrared ray-absorbing agent. Also disclosed is a method for producing the eyeglass lens having an infrared ray-absorbing property. An infrared ray-absorbable eyeglass lens comprises a resin composition comprising a polyurethane resin composition and an infrared ray-absorbing dye, wherein the polyurethane resin composition is produced by the addition polymerization of an aromatic polyamine and a prepolymer prepared by the reaction of a polyisocyanate with a polyhydroxy compound. In the eyeglass lens, it is possible to avoid the deterioration in the function of the infrared ray-absorbing agent or the tendency of increasing the absorption of visible light caused by an additive such as an peroxide (e.g., a polymerization catalyst such as benzoyl peroxide, a polymerization initiator), which is unavoidable in conventional molding resin materials. Further, the eyeglass lens can be molded at a relatively low temperature, and therefore it is not required to mold the eyeglass lens at a temperature as high as 250°C or higher unlike the conventional methods. Thus, it is also possible to avoid the deterioration in the function of the infrared ray-absorbing agent which is usually caused by heating. |
