PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounted inductor in which contact resistance to be generated between a coil and an external terminal is eliminated by reducing a thermal stress/mechanical stress to the coil and the coil is formed symmetrical bilaterally, the surface-mounted inductor encapsulating the coil with an encapsulation material including a magnetic powder and a resin, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The surface-mounted inductor comprises a coil 2 that is formed by winding a lead wire, and a compact in which the coil is encapsulated with the encapsulation material including the resin and a filler. The coil includes: a first winding part 2c in which the lead wire is wound over two stages in such a manner that both ends of the lead wire of which the cross section is formed flat and angular, are positioned in an outer circumference; and a second winding part 2d in which the lead wire is wound while displacing positions oppositely to each other along a winding axis of the coil in such a manner that an inner diameter becomes equal to or larger than an outer diameter of the first winding part. The end of the lead wire is pulled out of the outer circumference of the second winding part to form a lead-out end 2b, and the coil is encapsulated by the encapsulation material in such a manner that the winding axis is parallel with a mounting side of the compact and a surface of the lead-out end is exposed on a surface of the mounting side of the compact.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
