PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate driver's intuitively recognizing a state of a drive assist device detecting a position of each compartment line and operating.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus is applied to a drive assist system provided with a drive assist device and a head-up display and generates a display image. The drive assist device detects a relative position of each of compartment lines R1 to R6 provided on a travel route R to a vehicle 10, and assists the vehicle in driving on the basis of detected position information. The image processing apparatus comprises acquisition means acquiring the position information; and generation means generating the display image including predetermined display elements M1 to M6. The generation means generates the display image so that each display element is recognized at a position associated with the position information acquired by the acquisition means and recognized as a shape inclined from each compartment line to the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
