PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical lithium ion secondary battery arranged so that the formation of an oxide layer, the increase in resistance, short circuit, and a crack and/or a sealing failure in a component owing to the bending thereof can be reduced by optimizing a region and/or an amount of soldering or solder paste coating between a cap-up forming part of a cap assembly and a positive temperature device.SOLUTION: A cylindrical lithium ion secondary battery is disclosed according to the present invention, which comprises: a cylindrical can; an electrode assembly enclosed in the cylindrical can together with an electrolytic solution; and a cap assembly for sealing the cylindrical can. The cap assembly includes: a positive temperature device connected to the electrode assembly; a cap-up connected to the positive temperature device; and a solder interposed between the positive temperature device and the cap-up. The cylindrical lithium ion secondary battery further comprises: an outer space part around peripheral parts of the positive temperature device and cap-up, where no solder is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
