PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of traveling to a nearest service station while preventing damage of each component due to insufficient lubrication, at such an emergency that a liquid level of lubricant in an oil pan lowers due to leakage of lubricant, and a lubrication method at emergency of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An engine 10 includes liquid level increase means that when a liquid level H1 of lubricant 30 in an oil pan 12 is lower than a preset lower limit Hmin, introduces fuel 19 to the oil pan 12, dilutes the lubricant 30 in the oil pan 12, and increase the liquid level H1 to the lower limit Hmin or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
