PURPOSE:To ensure that sheets are not uselessly consumed by printing the sheet in a diminished form, if performing the printing of a bound page of life size is impossible, in a document printing device designed to print a bound page. CONSTITUTION:A document printing device consists of an input part 1 which inputs characters, a display part 2 which displays characters and figures, a printing part 4 which prints characters and figures, a storage part 3 which stores editing data and a control part 8 with a means to control the preparation and printing of a document. In addition, a means 842 for page binding designation which designates the requirement for binding the page on which printing is impossible, if performed using a sheet of life size, a means 844 for sheet designation which selects between printing sheet sizes, a means 845 for calculating a diminution scale which calculates the diminution rate between the life size of a sheet for the bound page and an actual printing sheet size, and a means 831 for diminution conversion which diminishes print data according to said diminution scale are provided on the control part 8. That is, if it is impossible to print a bound page of life size, printing diminished print data on the bound page can be achieved and the useless consumption of sheets can be eliminated. |
