PURPOSE:To provide an ink ribbon for preparation of a dry-type transfer material which improves thermal transfer-ability to such a base sheet as a film with inferior wettability and exhibits good shelf life even at high temp. environment. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ribbon 10 is formed on a ribbon base material 11 (a substrate) and consists of an ink layer contg. a coloring agent, a binder contg. a wax as a main ingredient and a pressure-sensitive adhesive and a transfer-ability-adjusting layer 13. As 80wt.% or more wax in the wax of the binder of the ink layer is a compsn. with a rate of penetration of at most 50 at 55 deg.C, the heat softening temp. is elevated and good shelf life can be obtd. without generating winding turbulence of a ribbon spool even at a relatively high temp. environment (55 deg.C). |
