[Also in Division G4] An emergency lighting device for road vehicles comprises a support on which a projection lamp 1 is movably mounted, a flashing lamp 6 carried by the support and means 8 for the supply of current to the lamps from a remote source. The lamp 1 has a reflector and a front glass and is supported on pivots in bearings on the uprights 10, 11 of the support so that its angle of inclination can be varied. The uprights are carried by bases 13, 14 which may be foldable for storage in a vehicle, and are joined by a cross-bar 12 on which is mounted the flashing lamp 6 and which may also carry a socket 24 for e.g. a second flashing light. The lamp 1 is fitted with a switch to regulate the light intensity and may contain a battery for use in the event of failure of the current supply from the remote source. The battery may alternatively be mounted in a clip on the support.</p> |
