A piston seal 1 of elastomeric material is formed with a flat radial front end face 2, a radial rear end face 3 and outer and inner circumferential surfaces, one of which is concave and the other convex. Fig. 5 (not shown), illustrates deformation of the seal when the piston-and-cylinder are assembled and Fig. 6 (not shown), illustrates deformation in operation. In Fig. 7 (not shown), the concave surface is on the outside; such a seal may be fitted into a groove in the cylinder bore. |
