A laminated multi-layer belt has a central zone of fabric sheets bonded by thermoplastic material, the weft yarns of the fabric extending laterally beyond the warp yarns into edge zones comprises solely of the thermoplastic material. The belt is made by applying heat and pressure to a blank of fabric layers, interleaved or coated with the thermoplastic material, and whose peripheral warp yarns are of such material. The blank may be provided with outer layers of thermoplastic material. The thermoplastic material may be polyvinyl chloride and/or rubber. |
